Here's some more fan pics that I've been working on. Click to see the full pic. Links directly to my DA.

<- Head shot of Shishido that I colored for his/my birthday

<- First two pics for my Doubles Pair Series: Golden and Dirty Pair

I'm still trying to decide which doubles pair I want to start coloring next. I have Silver, Platinum, Bronze, and Rikkai D2 drawn already... and I may draw Emerald and any other requested pair later.

What's up at www.sugarquill.net? All my bookmarks are broken and I basically can't see anything but the home page and the closed forums pages. Please, please don't say all those stories and art are lost! Oh, no!

It's me again with my Sims post. Sims 2 didn't work very well anymore on my laptop so I had to setup the Double Deluxe version and start all over again. I'd like to show the first part of my story - there's only Oishi, Eiji, Momo, Fuji and Ryoma right now since I couldn't make a family out of the while Seigaku but the rest of them will move in later! :3

Rating: PG-13(language, half-naked Sims, making out)
Pairings: Momo/Eiji, Oishi/Eiji, Momo/Ryoma, Momo/Fuji, Fuji/OC a bit of Fuji/Ryoma
Warnings: CRACK! Imageheavy, Momo angst, OOC-ness, because, well, it's Sims.

I translated a survey by Shiba from PairPuri volume 1 where characters are asked 4 questions about a classmate of theirs. The pairings are as follows:

Echizen & Horio
Fuji & Kikumaru
Sanada & Yagyuu
Niou & Marui
Shishido & Jirou
Kite & Shiranui
Hirakoba & Kai
Shiraishi & Kenya
Koharu & Yuuji
Yanagizawa & Atsushi
Sengoku & Akutsu
Shinji & Ishida

Their short answers about each other are fairly entertaining. Translations are rough and not well proofread. Feel free to point out any mistakes or mistranslations.

You can find the translation over here!

Come one, come all! Sign ups for [info]inukai_exchange are still open through Monday, November 9! Sign up now and receive a free kitten!* Stories aren't due til the end of January, so you don't have to worry about writing until AFTER all your holiday exchanges.

Thanks to everyone who has posted about the exchange! Your support is much appreciated. :) I'm hoping several more people will sign up before the deadline, so keep harassing encouraging your friends and relations who love InuKai.

On a slightly different note, should I be worried that less than half of the people who have signed up to write are actually watching the comm?

Great InuKai Moments in History

That time when Inui was playing Yanagi in singles and working through all his abandonment issues and then his glasses got broken due to pent up emotion and when he put on a new pair and looked up and everyone was cheering for him but he kept looking up and up and up until there was Kaidoh, giving Inui the thumbs up, and then Inui smiled.

Add yours in comments! Zhen Zhi/Hai Tang moments also much appreciated.

I have a bunch of doujinshi for sale here. Most of them are pretty hard to find online these days and they're all in great condition. They're mostly Hyoutei-centric, although I do have an absolutely beautiful Fuji-centric one as well. Please check it out! (And buy something, hahaha.)

It is a good morning here. Following yesterday's hide-under-the-blankets episode, I'm feeling ready to take on the world again. Mostly because I was so buoyed by the love and encouragement of the non-venom-spewing, clear-headed, strong-hearted members of my flist. Gifts of chocolate, tea, DVDs, wisdom, exercises, escapism, hope, and the Saharism "That's on My List of Things Not to Worry About" have made for a refreshed Co today. I also confirmed, with a little naval-gazing, that even on days when just plain mean seems to be winning in all quarters, I have a candle to set out in the darkness, and that candle is my kids. It's my goal to ensure that they're not seduced by the dark side. That they don't engage in cruelty, but in compassion. That they know to offer help rather than ridicule, to seek solutions rather than scoff. To reason, to cheer, to defend, to love. If I set these three little lives out there thusly armed, they light up another corner. I think it's working when 13-year-old Luke calls me at 7:45 AM after a Halloween sleepover, voice still groggy, asking me to pick him up so he won't miss Shrek put on goalie pads for the first time. I think about things like that, and I think about you all, and I feel much, much better.

Edited to add my go-to song for these occasions... I'd forgotten about it, but here, a thank-you to you all.
(I'm also bad at sharing songs so I find it easy to do a you-tube link. )

Back then we wanted the same thing. "If I get it, I will remember you."

I walked home with a colleague last night, and she suddenly gave an outburst. "I DON'T WANT FRIENDS ANYMORE." Initially, I thought her whole whine about, "You know, I don't get why some people want to be someone they're not... like, quit trying to be an It Girl blah blah BLAH..."

Then I look at some people I know, some people I regarded as friends, and I'm like, "Fuck it, I don't want friends anymore."

[info]yuletide signups are now open through Thursday the 12th. If you haven't signed up, I strongly encourage you to do so. Yuletide has become the gift that I give to myself every year, as much as to other people. I love it so much.

This is my "Dear Santa" letter. It's also a healthy dose of fandom pimping & introspection. I beg my flist to indulge me a little.

I nominated 6 fandoms for Yuletide (that list w/some notes on each fandom is here), and then promptly fell in love with a 7th Yuletide fandom just after nominations closed.

Narrowing down the list this year is extremely hard for me. Yuletide in the past, for me, has mostly been about my experience as a writer. (In fact if you skim my yuletide tag from years past you can kind of see me transform from this, like, casually snooty outsider (who defaulted her first year and then felt so guilty she has pinch-hit every year since to atone for it) into this over-eager fangirl who comments on every single admin post and spends hours making geeky spreadsheets of the requested fandoms. And flow charts. I've loved all the fics I've gotten, but I've done the challenge because of the amazing freedom I feel every year as a writer, and the fact that I always learn a new fandom in the process of pinch-hitting and going out on a limb and offering rare fandoms I'm not too familiar with.

This is my 5th year participating in Yuletide. I was thinking about what I'd like my nominations/requests to be about this year, and realized that more than anything I just want my gift-writer to have fun & stretch your limits a little, and feel like you've grown from the experience of writing the challenge, because that's how I always feel.

I think I want my fandoms this year to feel very fluid. I want you, dear Santa, to feel that you could easily move from one of these request to another without losing much enjoyment, because ultimately it's all about what you bring to the story, and the canon doesn't matter so much. There's no order of preference - I honestly will be thrilled to receive any of these. What I want most of all is for you to have fun and maybe experience something new. :D

So, with that in mind, these next posts are going to have tons of fandom promotional stuff, for everyone, and for you, dearest Santa, if you're thinking about checking out any of the other fandoms on my list.

For non-Santa readers, if you only check out one thing in this entire post, please take the Robert Shaw recordings, and of the Schnittke Requiem, which is a) my most beloved of all Requiems, and b) such a rarely performed work that until the 2000s, only one professional recording of it even existed. If you only check out two, watch Charles Dutoit conducting the Durufle, because it is, just, wow. Breathtaking. <3

I am tired, going to bed, will do the other 2 fandoms when i decide what they are later on this week. <3
